Hear the Conversation Live! Introducing Real-Time Audio Streaming in Interpret AI

Interpret AI now supports live audio streaming in its Broadcast Room — hear translated audio synchronized with real-time captions.

Interpret AI has launched a new feature enabling live audio streaming in its Broadcast Room. This addition complements the platform’s existing real-time transcription and translation capabilities, allowing users to hear meeting audio synchronized with displayed text.

How It Works

The Live Audio Streaming functionality works across Speaker Rooms and Broadcast links. When users select a language for text display, the system attempts to provide corresponding translated audio when accessible.

Key Benefits

  • Accessibility: Provides essential auditory engagement for visually impaired users and those preferring audio-based learning
  • Contextual Understanding: Speaker tone and emphasis add nuance beyond text transcription
  • Multitasking Support: Listeners can review notes or step away while maintaining engagement through audio
  • Language Learning: Hearing spoken language alongside real-time translations aids language acquisition

How to Use

  1. Join a Broadcast Room
  2. Locate the Live Audio toggle button
  3. Select your preferred language
  4. Enable the stream

The toggle can be disabled at any time.

Under the Hood

The platform leverages WebSockets for real-time data transfer and the Web Audio API to deliver low-latency audio playback directly in the browser — no plugins or downloads required.

Interpret AI was created by Joseph Liba after recognizing his father’s hearing difficulties during church services, with a vision to provide live captioning for everyone who needs it.
